During this quarantine, Disney has provided us many things to watch on their new watching service Disney Plus. This includes the new documentary of The Mandalorian. This documentary is fairly interesting because it explains how the characters were made, not just in the Mandalorian but in other films too. And you see how much work it is just to produce the film, but it is amazing. How every one has a part in the film, especially the producers and directors. The directors really have to know the scene and the characters, but also have their own perspective on everything going on. If you didn’t know Jon Favreau is the creator of the Mandalorian, (also made Elf, Iron Man, and plays Happy in the MCU). They have already finished filming The Mandalorian season 2 which is likely to show Ahsoka Tano and the actor that played Bobba Fett. That’s all the news for this week 🙂
Star Wars WP7
May the fourth be with you! It’s May 4th, which is a “holiday” for Star Wars. This May 4th is a bit more special than other May 4th because Disney is releasing a Mandalorian Documentary, The Rise of Skywalker, and Clone Wars episodes on Disney+. May 4th has been a holiday people could celebrate for a while now. The first movie aired in 1977, so that means there has been about 42 May the 4th be with you holidays. Some people may say that this May 4th isn’t that special because the Skywalker Saga has ended, but a new saga is supposedly in the works. With one of the producers to be Taika Waititi and more. This May 4th is especially weird since we all are in quarantine, but at least we are all staying safe this May 4th. But otherwise, May the fourth be with you!!!
SBC 7 Emojis
Emojis have become really popular throughout the years. Since phones, or tablets, etc. were created one of the ways people communicated without using words was emojis. Emojis are fondly easier to use than you think. Even if you don’t speak the same language you can express emotion through emojis. Such as a happy face, sad face, or heart eyes. With just those descriptions show how easy emojis are to use. There are tons of emojis in the world, and still more are coming. Originally there were 176 emojis and have now expanded to 3,304 emojis. With all these emojis you can express so much more now without words, because even with just little image you can see how a person feels.
Star Wars WP6
Disney has announced that The Rise of Skywalker will be added on Disney+ this May fourth, with other following subjects such as the documentary about how The Mandalorian was made, and episodes of The Clone Wars. Since most of the world has been put under quarantine, which has really been a bummer since everything in the world has been cancelled (I mean even Comic Con San Diego has been cancelled) Disney has been releasing a bunch of their newer movies earlier on Disney Plus. Such as Frozen 2, and Maleficent the Mistress of Evil should be arriving soon to Disney Plus due to the pandemic. And since it is the Star Wars holiday May Fourth, they decided to release the movie a month earlier than scheduled. But it is completely fine for the fans of the sequel trilogy, or at least that movie. Are you excited about the early release of the movie?
My School (SBC6)
My school is like a lot of schools in California. My school starts off at 7:55 in the morning, and ends at 2:52 in the afternoon. I have 8 periods not including lunch and a break in-between. The classes I have are Team (which is like a whole counseling period and teaches you about emotions and how to control them), then the normal like Language Arts, History, Physical Education, Math, Science, and two extra curricular activities if you don’t have two periods of math. The classes consist of about 55 minutes per period, with a break of 10 minutes, and with about 30 minutes for lunch. And that’s the basics of my school, how about yours?
Star Wars WP5
As most of you know, the last movie of the Skywalker Saga was released in December and now on digital. This movie wasn’t liked by many, and unfortunately got the lowest rating of any Star Wars movie scoring a 52% in Rotten Tomatoes. A lot of people were excited when they found out that Disney bought George Lucas’ Star Wars. After the release of The Force Awakens many people got excited for what Disney would bring next. But in 2017 when The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnsen, was released many people started to worry. The Star Wars fans started to get upset by what Disney was doing to Star Wars, they said it was ruining the franchise. When The Rise of Skywalker came out, many people had high hopes once again, and a lot were disappointed. This movie was supposed to end the Skywalker Saga in a happy ending. But instead left it in a more sad ending. What is your opinion on this movie? Did you like it? In my opinion I didn’t think it was all bad, there are always good parts of a movie. And The Last Jedi wasn’t all bad either. But that’s my opinion. What’s yours?
Plastic Bottle Pollution SBC5
This year on April 22 is Earth Day. Earth Day is designated day for appreciating the environment we have and to learn about the threats that harm our planet. One of the bigger threats happening on our planet other than the Corona Virus is Plastic Bottle Pollution. This has been a big thing for a while due to people not recycling. These bottles cause our landfills to be much bigger than needed, which makes less room for us people who need places to live. Then one of the huge threats that is so very sad is the water pollution. People go to beaches and leave their trash, and when the tides get larger it takes up all the trash. Or when the wind picks up. Those plastic bottles take years to just break down, and if they don’t break down they end up at the bottom of the sea. But that’s not the biggest threat for water pollution with water bottles, it’s that our precious sea creatures that live in the water start to eat the bottles. They think it’s food, but it’s not and unfortunately some die. This Earth Day since we are in quarantine, you can read more about the Plastic Bottle Pollution. You can find out how bad we need to stop producing these products, and way you can help.
Spring Break
I am on Spring Break until March 30. I will participate in the Student Blogging Challenge when I return.
About Me (SBC1)
My name is Leticia, I am 13 years old, and I’m an 8th grader in middle school. I live in a small but nice town in California. I have played golf and color guard for about 2 years, and really like to watch Star Wars and Marvel (so really any Disney Movie) . Some of my hobbies are reading and baking. Out of all of my classes I enjoy Band or Math the most, because they are both really fun and just exciting. I am the middle child of 3. I live with my parents, and one of my uncles. I have 7 fish that I got for Christmas which are all different breeds.
Star Wars (WP1)
Just this December of 2019 Disney and Lucasfilm ended the decade with the final Skywalker trilogy. We’ve had the originals (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi), then the prequels (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith), then the sequels (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker). George Lucas started the fascinated tale in 1977 with the original Star Wars, then when Disney bought it off of him they created the prequels which weren’t too popular for most, then ending the Skywalker tale with the sequels. The Rise of Skywalker ended the trilogies of the Skywalker tale, with heartbreak and happy endings (somewhat). The sequels star Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), General Leia (Carrie Fisher), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). The ending brought heartbreak for the ending of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, but happiness for the end of the First Order and the winning of the Resistance. But overall the movie not liked by many, it had the lowest score for Rotten Tomatoes for any Star Wars film only scoring 52%. But if you were a true Star Wars fan you would love it, and hate it at the same time because you have to see the tale you grew up with come to an end.
